During the event, 20+ KPMG volunteers presented on corporate communication skills, the different engagements their firm does, and advice they have for job-seekers. Boots to Books teamed up with some awesome organizations to incentivize our transitioning service members to perfect their elevator pitch leading into our April 29th hiring fair! By simply submitting a video of them giving their elevator pitch and keeping up to date, they are entered! Nov 12th we are hosting a variety of different people who work in Cyber and IT to do 'informational interviews'. They will talk about their daily duties, company and how they landed their role! This event is will help all #veterans, #transitioningmilitary, and #milspouses when deciding which position they want to pursue.. one of the most important steps in the job search.

Boots to Books founders, Peter Cline and Aubrey Sine, were invited to speak at the Rotary Club of Tiburon Sunset dinner at the San Francisco Yacht Club. This group has shown Boots to Books an immense amount of support, as has the Carolyn and Peter Friedman Foundation whose executives were in attendance. They showed us a fantastic experience and were truly a fun group to spend time with and present to!

Boots to Books helped Veterans cover resources as they began the Fall semester, covering over $1000 in textbooks for Veterans at a variety of different schools and majors.
On August 7th Boots to Books hosted an onboarding to give veterans their free registration links through Lean Six Sigma. We gifted 14 total certifications, which included 10 Green Belts and 4 Black Belts. Boots to Books teamed up with Phase2 Advantage, an Army Veteran owned Cybersecurity instruction company that offers cutting edge certifications often used by government agencies to cover over $5000 in value of Cybersecurity certifications for Veterans. Certifications were for the Certified Disaster Response and Recovery Manager track.
Boots to Books started our first Magoosh test preparation course with an MBA hopeful preparing for the GMAT. Boots to Books used Magoosh (the e-learning platform) since to provide free test preparation for two Veterans preparing for the LSAT, and one’s preparation for the GMAT; self-paced to accommodate their schedules.
On June 25th, Boots to Books held a Career Coaching event for Veterans looking to transition into the Cybersecurity and IT realm. We had a fantastic host, Christophe Foulon who is a professor, podcast host and many more things. For hours we had veterans coming in and out, asking the tough questions.
